# Terminal Quest: learn the command line by playing

Terminal Quest is a text adventure you play by typing real bash or PowerShell commands in your browser, one level at a time. Free to play.

## How to play

1. Pick an adventure and a shell: bash, the shell on Linux and Mac, or PowerShell, the shell on Windows. Every adventure plays in both.
2. Places are folders, and notes, clues and treasures are files. You move, read and search by typing commands, just as you would on your own computer.
3. Watch me: I type each command and say what it does.
4. Step by step: one goal at a time, with hints when you need them.
5. Explore: just you, the story and the terminal. Find every treasure, and the rare coin if you can.

Free for everyone. Play as a guest and nothing is saved; registration is free and keeps track of your stats and progress.
