Compositing

Combining painted layers into the final picture.

What is compositing?

Compositing is combining painted layers into the final picture. Changes to transform and opacity can skip layout and paint, which is why they animate smoothly.

.drawer { transition: transform 0.3s; } /* smooth: only compositing changes */
