# Derived Class

A class that inherits from another class and can add to it.

## What is **Derived Class**?

A **derived class** (or subclass) is a class that inherits from another class. It gets everything the base class has and can add its own data and methods.

```csharp
public class Employee { public string Name { get; set; } }

public class Manager : Employee   // Manager is the derived class
{
    public List<Employee> Team { get; } = new();
}
```
