An event is an any action that can happen that your application can monitor.

## What is a JavaScript **event**?

An **event** is an any action that can happen that 
your application can monitor. You can write code
to execute when an event *fires*. This is called
an event handler.

**Examples**
`button clicked` , `page loaded` , `image hover`
