Any whole number that can be positive or negative.

## What is an **integer**?

Mathematically an **integer** is any whole number that
can be positive or negative. Every programming language
has support for integers.

 // javscript has a number data type for all integers
let bignumber = 1234567890;
```

# python also allows any number to be stored in a variable
bignumber = 123456789
```

```csharp
// c# and java have multiple integer data types
byte, short, int, long
```

```sql
