# Preflight Request

The OPTIONS check a browser sends before some cross-origin requests.

## What is **Preflight Request**?

A **preflight request** is an automatic `OPTIONS` request the browser sends before certain cross-origin calls, asking the server if the real request is allowed under CORS.
