# Transition

Makes a property change smoothly instead of jumping.

## What is a **transition** in CSS?

A **transition** makes a property change smoothly over time instead of jumping, like a button fading to a new color on hover.

```css
.button { background: teal; transition: background 0.3s ease; }
.button:hover { background: darkcyan; }
```
