# Request / Response

The browser sends a request and the server sends back one response, and the server does not remember earlier requests.

Web applications operate on a Request/Response model. The browser makes a request, and the server sends a response. Each new request begins with a new cycle. In other words, each request stands on its own: the server answers it and doesn't remember it, so if a new page is required, a new request must be made.
